Lindah Baipai is in her final year of study at Midlands State University where she is doing Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies (honours degree).
As a requisite of my degree programme I had to go for work related learning in my third year of study that’s when I got a placement at ZWRCN. During my internship period at ZWRCN from 2015 to 2016 I was attached as a programmes intern under the Gender Economic Policies and Public Finances (GEPPF) programme. It was a great opportunity for me and I enjoyed working with a team that has so much potential and passion for gender issues. I gained strong research skills, experience in project coordination, youths training, communication skills, presentation, report writing as well as deeper understanding of the value of the community. My internship at ZWRCN gave me hope of life to believe that everything is possible as long as you put your mind to it. The humility I learned working in a diverse setting is definitely something I will take and use in my day to day life. I feel my period at ZWRCN provided a mirror for me to look at life personally and professionally and ask "is what I am studying right for me?”
